What an incredible Family Cruise Celebration we had at Artis of Wilmette! ❤️ Every neighborhood became a different country, inspired by the residents who live there Honoring Yesterday Celebrating Today
Our cruise took us to Greece 🇬🇷, Germany 🇩🇪, England 🇬🇧, and America 🇺🇸! Our American neighborhood celebrated baseball, including two of our biggest White Sox fans! ⚾️⚾️
We enjoyed delicious foods from each country, wonderful entertainment in the Community Center, and plenty of smiles, laughter, and memories along the way. 🌎❤️

As days shorten, mood can dip and evenings can feel harder to settle into. For people living with dementia, this seasonal shift often intensifies confusion or unease as afternoon turns to evening, a pattern called “sundowning.”
At Artis, we build imaginative play into daily life to help ease that restlessness. A story can go anywhere. Roleplay can be anyone. Because nothing is being tested, residents often engage more freely, giving a toast at a family celebration or picking up a story mid-sentence and deciding where it goes next.
