Well-Being Philosophy
Holistic Care, The Artis Way

“I taught two generations how to garden … and I still have a green thumb.”
– Diane C
Artis Resident

Our evidence-based, holistic well-being framework includes an optimal combination of a supportive environment, discreet care, social connection, and cognitive health.
Environment
Our intentionally designed communities promote safety and independence with adaptive, accessible design, décor that creates a sense of familiarity, and secure outdoor spaces that encourage exploration.
Care
We provide support with medication reminders and activities of daily living, along with better nutrition and exercise programs to enhance overall well-being.
Connection
We offer daily, well-rounded opportunities for participation and social engagement with neighbors, associates, friends, and family – and monthly outings – fostering a sense of autonomy, belonging, and purpose.
Cognitive Support
We engage residents in specialized programs and therapies designed to stimulate cognitive function and promote emotional well-being, including music and art therapy, memory-enhancing exercises and games, reminiscence therapy, and sensory stimulation exercises.

Memory Care
Memory Care at Artis is designed to help people living with Alzheimer’s and other types of dementia feel empowered in their care and in their day-to-day lives. A licensed nurse is on site 24/7, and associates are specially trained in dementia care.

are saying
From the management team (Sheryl and Becca) to the medical/nursing team (Gavin, Dr. Henry, Suzie and Linda) to the social work support (Bri), building and grounds (Nicks on, who was there for us and followed through with any request sometimes even before we formally put in the request!), and kitchen/support staff (Amarante and co.), we continuously feel that we have everyone on board at all times to help my father with a genuine smile if care and concern on his or her face.
From the very first conversation, the team here treated my father like a person not a patient, not a room number. The transition process was handled with a level of care and thoughtfulness I didn’t expect. They asked questions about who he is, not just what he needs. What does he like? What makes him laugh? What does a good day look like for him? That told me everything I needed to know about the philosophy of this place.
He has been there for a while now and I can genuinely say he is happy. Not just “comfortable” in the clinical sense actually happy. He engages with activities, he has moments of joy in his days, and when I visit, I see a version of my father I was afraid I’d lost. The staff knows him. They greet him warmly, they’re patient, and it’s clear they actually enjoy being around the residents. That’s not something you can fake day after day.
I am my father’s sole caretaker, and for years I carried the weight of that completely alone. Artis gave me something I didn’t know I desperately needed the ability to exhale. There’s a particular kind of peace that comes from knowing your loved one is genuinely safe, engaged, and cared for by people who are better equipped for this than you are. I say that not out of guilt, but out of honesty. The team here can give my father things I simply couldn’t structure, consistent skilled care, and a community around him every single day.
If you’re on the fence, go visit. Trust what you see and how it feels when you walk in. For us, Artis was the right decision, and I’m grateful every day that we found it.
The care provided by the Artis team has been exceptional. From the cleanliness of the facility and the quality of the food to the compassion and professionalism of the caregivers, Artis has given our family tremendous peace of mind knowing that our mother is receiving outstanding care.
What makes Artis truly special is that our mother is not treated as just another resident. Every staff member knows her by name, greets her warmly, and genuinely cares about her well-being. Her caregivers, Amarante and Jona, have become a very special part of our lives. Nurses Linda and Susie always know exactly how to care for Mom and handle her unique needs with kindness and expertise. The management team, including Sheryl and Gavin, is consistently available to listen, answer questions, and provide support whenever needed.
We are deeply grateful to everyone at Artis for the outstanding care, compassion, and support they have provided to both our mother and our family. Thank you for making such a meaningful difference in our lives.
The Ehrentreu Family
As you know, my loving husband and life partner Bob passed away on June 1, 2026 at your facility.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the excellent care that your staff provided to him and the support that was extended to me and my sons Bobby and Patrick.
Regardless of what Bob’s needs were whether personal hygiene care, nutritional or support in general, they were met which diligence and compassion.
I would like to express my deepest gratitude for the special care that Gavin, Becca, Brijaye, Andres, Linda, Suzi, Chelyne, and Lizette gave. If I have inadvertently forgotten someone, I apologize.
Again thank you for having such a wonderful and caring staff.

I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude for the extraordinary care, compassion, and humanity you have shown my brother during one of the most challenging chapters of his life — and mine.
From the moment you walk through the entrance, you feel the warmth of this community. Jodi and Phil greet every resident and every family member with kindness, patience, and genuine care. Their welcoming presence sets the tone for everything that follows. In a world where many senior facilities feel cold or rushed, they create an atmosphere of comfort and dignity from the very first step inside.
I would like to offer a very special thank‑you to Sheryl, whose dedication has been nothing short of a blessing. When my brother was Baker Acted and taken to the hospital, Sheryl went out of her way to visit him, bring him Tootsie lollipops, and keep me informed every step of the way. She coordinated his transportation, advocated for him, and welcomed him into your community even though he was considered high‑risk and combative. Many facilities would have turned him away. Sheryl did not. She stood firm, patient, and unwavering.
But she did not stand alone.
To the nurses, including Susie and Primrose, thank you for your steady hands, your clinical skill, and your compassionate hearts. You cared for my brother in moments when he was frightened, confused, or overwhelmed. You treated him with dignity, even on the hardest days.
To the caregivers, including Cherlyne, Lissett, and the many others whose names I may not know but whose kindness I will never forget — thank you. You provided stability when he was unstable, comfort when he was distressed, and presence when he could not advocate for himself. Your work is sacred, and it does not go unnoticed.
To Gavin, Director of Nursing — thank you for your leadership, your oversight, and your commitment to ensuring that every resident receives the care they need, especially those who arrive in crisis or with complex needs.
My brother was also the youngest resident in your community — living with Alzheimer’s and hydrocephalus. These conditions do not discriminate by age, and they bring unique challenges. Yet your team embraced him with the same level of care, patience, and respect as any other resident. This speaks volumes about your capability, your training, and your heart. It is clear that your center is equipped to handle high‑level, complex care, regardless of age.
Sheryl once told me, “No place is perfect.” And she is right.
But what makes The Artist Senior Living Center exceptional is that your staff never stops trying. You show up. You stay committed. You stand by the residents others might give up on. That is rare, and it is deeply meaningful.
Ultimately, I made the choice to bring my brother home — to spend his final days surrounded by love, in peace, in his true resting place. But I want you to know that the care he received at your center made that possible. You stabilized him. You protected him. You gave him dignity during a time when he was most vulnerable.
I would highly recommend The Artist Senior Living Center of Boca Raton to any family seeking compassionate, skilled, and dedicated care for their loved one — regardless of age or complexity. Your team has proven that you are capable of providing a high level of care that many facilities cannot match.
There are no words that can fully express my gratitude.
But please know this: you have made a profound difference in our lives.
With heartfelt appreciation,
Jacqueline B. Velazquez
