Our guiding principles help us set a high standard for quality, safety and well-being, every day.

We believe that teamwork, accountability, and mutual respect create an environment where everyone is motivated to be and do their best. We understand interdependence and consider the impact of business decisions on residents, associates, families, local partners, and owners.

We recognize that our attitudes directly affect our residents and each other. We know positivity is integral to holistic well-being and is a collective effort, shared and amplified by associates, residents, families, and our local partners alike. We support residents and each other in building resilience, helping residents to navigate the challenges of aging and dementia with warmth and tenderness.

We think before we act, because we are ultimately responsible for our actions and decisions. We exhibit empathy and integrity. We strive to know and honor each other’s stories and to make each moment meaningful. We exhibit behavior that inspires others to do what’s right for our residents, their families, and our associates.

We believe that optimal well-being can be achieved at any age, and we aim to create an environment that encourages individuality and independence. We believe that the right mix of sleep, nutrition, natural light, movement, meaningful relationships, and opportunities for play are the secret to living an inspired and present life.

We know that while we pride ourselves on what we do, continuous improvement is how we maintain an Artis level of quality. We know that profitability allows us to maintain our promises to residents and families. We embrace change, nimbly adapt from failures, and frequently celebrate successes.

See how we’re honoring
yesterday and celebrating
today.

Hydration is crucial, especially as we age. Here are some tips to help you get into a healthy hydration habit! 💧

1. Sippin' All the Day: No need to chug a whole glass at once – take small, frequent sips, even if you don’t feel thirsty.

2. Do Yourself a Flavor: Add fruit slices to water, or try sparkling water, juices, and herbal teas to keep things interesting.

3. Set a Schedule: Link drinking water to meals, daily tasks or socializing – use an app or make a fun chart to stay on track.

4. Eat Your Water: Include popsicles, Jell-O, broth-based soup and water-rich fruits like cantaloupe and peaches, in your diet.

5. Keep It Handy: Place a pitcher or water cooler in rooms besides the kitchen – and keep the fridge stocked with your favorite bevvys.

🔴⚫️🟢 Today is Juneteenth, the commemoration of the end of slavery in the United States. It's a day to celebrate freedom, reflect on racial injustice, educate ourselves and raise awareness by having important conversations. Here are few conversation starters to honor the day:

1. Share stories of resilience: Discuss important stories of people who played a significant role in the emancipation journey.

2. Discuss the significance of freedom: How can we continue to advocate for equality and justice today?

3. Explore the history: What happened on Juneteenth? Did the Juneteenth Order free any slaves? Why was the Juneteenth Order issued?

4. Personal connections: How has your family commemorated this day in the past, or how do you envision celebrating it in the future?

5. Acts of solidarity: Discuss ways to support and uplift the Black community. How can we actively contribute to a more inclusive and equitable society beyond Juneteenth?
