Maverick shares the joy of seeing his grandmother thrive at Artis — from compassionate care to creative expression through art. “It’s just a joy,” he says, watching her engage and connect in a place where genuine people support and uplift each resident.

Life Enrichment at Artis is powered by people with the training, heart, and intuition to transform everyday moments into meaningful experiences. Meet Marlene, one of our Life Enrichment Directors, whose superpower is discovering what brings each resident to life

For World Letter Writing Day, we’re putting pen to paper at Artis!Writing or dictating a letter can encourage self-expression, spark conversation, engage language and memory, and create something special to share with the people we love. For people living with dementia, it can be a wonderful starting point for connection. Not sure what to write? Here are some prompts to get you started. 📝

The perfect letter doesn’t need perfect spelling, beautiful handwriting, or even a stamp. Sometimes the joy is simply in remembering, laughing, and sharing the story together.

We’re excited to celebrate our Executive Director, Margaret “Meg” VanOver, LNHA, CEAL, CDP, on earning her **Certified Executive for Assisted Living (CEAL)** designation!

For Meg, pursuing the CEAL was about more than adding another credential. After spending much of her career in skilled nursing, she felt that stepping into the assisted living world meant taking the time to really understand it.

“I felt like this was something I needed to do to be effective in assisted living. I didn’t want to assume that what I knew from skilled nursing automatically translated. I wanted to learn the differences, understand the expectations, and make sure I was leading from a place of knowledge.”

Meg has always been passionate about learning, growing, and understanding the “why” behind the work we do. Earning the CEAL is another step in that commitment and in continuing to grow as a leader for our residents, families, and team.

Please join us in congratulating Meg on this accomplishment!
