Residents enjoyed a special trip to create their own glass art masterpieces! 🎨✨ Using tweezers, everyone carefully selected and placed colorful pieces of glass onto a plate to design their unique creation. Each piece was thoughtfully glued into place, and no two designs were the same. The creativity was incredible to see! We can’t wait to pick up their finished masterpieces in two weeks. 💙

People living with dementia benefit from engagement that respects the full richness of who they are – their curiosity, their history, and their natural desire to explore. Through intentionally designed sensory and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics)-based programs at Artis, we tap into universal human impulses: touch, movement, light, sound, building, testing, trying, and creating – helping regulate the nervous system and support emotional well-being.
See how our programs help residents connect, discover, and experience joy in ways that feel natural and purposeful – and learn 10 ways families can incorporate STEM experiences during visits! artisseniorliving.com/blog/how-sensory-stem-play-supports-people-on-the-dementia-journey/

Today, June took full advantage of the beautiful warm weather we’ve been enjoying! Inspired by the peaceful setting of our backyard, she decided there was no better place to paint than outdoors.
June was especially captivated by the very tall trees surrounding the space, which became the inspiration for her artwork. As she painted, she shared her creative process with Alle, explaining the reasoning behind the colors she chose and how each shade helped bring her vision to life.
It was a wonderful moment of creativity, connection, and enjoying the simple beauty of a warm day outside. Moments like these remind us how meaningful it is to slow down, appreciate nature, and express ourselves through art!

Residents in Cooking Club baked a traditional Spotted Dog (Irish soda bread) today! 🍞🇮🇪 Everyone took turns mixing the ingredients and watching the loaf come together. It baked to a beautiful golden color and filled the room with the most wonderful aroma.
To finish it off, we toasted slices and added a little butter—absolutely delicious! 😋 Residents loved sharing this classic Irish treat together.
