What the families we serve have to say
Great community! Will defintiely be recommending clients and their families when needing a memory care community.
My wife has been at OAL for two months. I have been extremely impressed by the caring staff that are genuinely concerned about the health and happiness of the residents from the frontline caregivers to the nursing, culinary, enrichment, front desk, and management staffs. I appreciate the openness of communication that exists between the various staffs and the resident’s family. Placing a loved one in a care facility is never an easy decision but OAL has been the right decision for my wife. Many thanks, to Sonia, Abbey, Zach and Melinda for their assistance in easing this transition for my wife.
It takes a team of dedicated, skilled professionals in all positions to provide the safe, clean, caring, dedicated and engaging memory care available at OAL. Carrie Brister, Executive Director, hires staff with the right heart and sees that they are well trained, initially and on an on-going basis. The Health and Wellness team of Melinda Csorba, Ramatu Ibrahim, Chrissy Meadows, Godwin Mbakwe, Mariatu Showers, and Althelia Tubman provide top-level care and responsiveness to health concerns 24/7. Zach Bolton, Director of Life Enrichment, has implemented many amazing, meaningful activities that keep my 92 year old mother engaged and active. Zach’s assistant, Pam Barrett, has my undying gratitude for her exuberance, devotion and care when facilitating activities including my weekly calls to my mother. The Care Partner staff who do all the daily care are a god-send. I thank Emebet Teklemariam and Genevieve Kouame in particular. There are many more but I live out of state and am not familiar with other Care Partners. My thanks also to the Environmental Services staff of David Surin, Clara Lesueur and Rosa Molina who understand the value of being friendly, kind and thorough while keeping the facility clean and free of odor. Many thanks also to the responsive, helpful and efficient Cynthia Ward (always with a big smile), Heather Weiss, Bea Carabante and Lynette Clark. The total care of my mother is my top priority. I made the right choice when I selected OAL 8 years ago.
The staff at OAL are amazing! I truly couldn’t ask for a better team of people to take care of my father. It’s clear that they genuinely care about their residents and they go above and beyond to keep them engaged and happy. I’m greeted with smiles every time I walk in. I’m very thankful for their compassion and care!
Olney has a real understanding of their patients dementia condition
My mother was at OAL for 3 years and it was also during Covid 2020-2022. OAL had very few problems with Covid and handled it per the CDC requirements. I don’t know what I would have done if I still had my mother in her home. Also so many sweet caregivers took good care of my mother. It is a very difficult journey taking care of a loved one with dementia and at OAL you find yourself becoming one big family. When my mother did pass at the age of 94, OAL was wonderful supporting my family during our grief. I still visit OAL and enjoy seeing the staff, employees, residents and family members.
The OAL team is caring, professional, and highly skilled. We especially appreciate the life enrichment programs that Zach Bolton coordinates. The regular morning and afternoon programs are varied and keep my mom having fun. Zach went to great lengths to schedule a Catholic priest to come on a recurring basis and has also organized field trips that my mom loves – both very important to Mom. We have incredible peace of mind that she is happy and well cared for!
