Community Mission And Values Hero 1

Our guiding principles help us set a high standard for quality, safety and well-being, every day.

We believe that teamwork, accountability, and mutual respect create an environment where everyone is motivated to be and do their best. We understand interdependence and consider the impact of business decisions on residents, associates, families, local partners, and owners.

We recognize that our attitudes directly affect our residents and each other. We know positivity is integral to holistic well-being and is a collective effort, shared and amplified by associates, residents, families, and our local partners alike. We support residents and each other in building resilience, helping residents to navigate the challenges of aging and dementia with warmth and tenderness.

We think before we act, because we are ultimately responsible for our actions and decisions. We exhibit empathy and integrity. We strive to know and honor each other’s stories and to make each moment meaningful. We exhibit behavior that inspires others to do what’s right for our residents, their families, and our associates.

We believe that optimal well-being can be achieved at any age, and we aim to create an environment that encourages individuality and independence. We believe that the right mix of sleep, nutrition, natural light, movement, meaningful relationships, and opportunities for play are the secret to living an inspired and present life.

We know that while we pride ourselves on what we do, continuous improvement is how we maintain an Artis level of quality. We know that profitability allows us to maintain our promises to residents and families. We embrace change, nimbly adapt from failures, and frequently celebrate successes.

Meaningful engagement and purpose gives Residents at Great Falls Memory Care by Artis a sense of identity, self-worth, and joy.

Every department at Great Falls Memory Care takes great effort in providing residents with meaningful engagement and purpose on a daily basis.

After recent heavy rain, our Director of Environmental Services, Victor B, pruned the branches of a crepe myrtle tree with help from Richard M, one of our beloved residents.

Victor B also had a help from Andy fixing a beauty salon chair that wasn’t working properly. Look at Andy’s smile and hard work!

Towards the end of the day, Marlene G and Carol H, assisted with beautifying the community, after a complete day of programming, a life skill, that kept their individual homes clean and inviting.

The Mike Norvell Music Fund sponsored a very special birthday today!

Justin Tradwick, today’s new musical guest/ performer at Great Falls Memory Care by Artis, is a well known artist in the Washington DC area and along the East Coast.

He had the residents singing along to familiar songs and applauding to songs that will soon be their “new” favorites.

Although our birthday celebrant was camera shy, a good time was had by all!

It’s that time of year, when students return to the classroom for a new year of learning.

At Artis, we’re helping our residents continue to learn, grow, and engage with the world through the Power of Play. For people living with dementia, learning can evolve into practicing familiar skills and sharing what they know with others.
